What are immersion heaters?
Immersion Heaters are heating element rods fixed (usually by welding) into a metal flange, commonly brass or stainless steel. They can be used to heat a variety of liquids. The liquid temperature can be controlled by a thermostat which is often fitted into a special closed end tube or pocket the immersion heater assembly.
The most common application for immersion heaters is water heating (Drinking, Washing, Process, Foul, and Sea).

Industrial and Commercial Screw Plug Threaded Immersion Heaters

TP Fay have developed specialised capabilities for manufacturing Immersion heaters since the formation of the company an 1976. Starting by rebuilding failed or damaged existing heaters to provide a service unavailable elsewhere we were often able to repair heaters no longer available from the original equipment manufacturer. This specialist repair service continues where required, however the knowledge and experience gained in re-manufacturing has been put to good use. TP Fay now offers a bespoke manufacturing service for all types of immersion heaters; an extensive inventory of components is available to manufacture high quality immersion heaters to order.
These heater assemblies are designed to install easily and operate with efficient reliability.
fi Range
The fi (Fay Immersion) General Industrial Immersion heaters are supplied with a rugged IP67 Pressure Die-cast Aluminium Terminal cover, for use in even the harshest environments. The cover was designed after consultation with installation engineers to ensure trouble free, lower cost, installation, use and maintenance. Powder Coated Terminal Cover available for increased protection where corrosive to bare aluminium.
These heater assemblies are designed to install easily and operate with efficient reliability.

Rosamon
A specialised range of water immersion heaters.
Used for
- Washing and sterilizing
- Pre heating
- Catering and Vending applications
- Engine pre-heating.
In September 2004 TP Fay acquired the assets of Heating Equipment Ltd. The company began Manufacturing Immersion Heaters in the 1930’s under the Rosamon Trade Name. The Rosamon Immersion heaters were developed for special water heating applications, with close control of temperatures and a degree of protection for water heating where boil-dry is a risk that may cause intantanious failure of an ordinary Immersion Heater.
The Rosamon range of Immersion Heaters continues to be manufactured by TP Fay, maintaining the special characteristics the range is renowned for, whilst utilising advanced materials and components to ensure the heaters conform to and generally exceed modern standards.

Special Characteristics
Thermostats:
Range includes specially calibrated Rod Thermostats to ensure close control of desired temperatures for water heating with economically efficient operation to maintain operating costs. A wide variety of standard Rod Thermostats from leading quality assured manufacturers is also available to suit your particular water heating Immersion Heater.
Low Water or Boil-Dry Protection:

Selected Immersion Heaters in the Rosamon range have been designed with special consideration of applications where the water cannot be re-filled automatically and the Immersion Heater operation may cause the water to evaporate. Standard Immersion Heaters would be liable to immediate failure in this situation, however, Rosamon Immersion Heaters have added protection devices to help protect against premature failure in this situation.
Re-settable / Contactors

To compliment the range of Boil-Dry protected Rosamon Immersion Heaters where high wattage rated elements and three-phase supply voltage are used TP Fay have devised effective protective circuits incorporating resettable devices for ensuring the elements are effectively switched off until the water level can be investigated and correctly re-filled to ensure continued safe operation of the immersion heater.
Run-Dry Heaters (Spiral)

In certain applications the options for control and correct monitoring of immersion heaters subject to Boil-Dry operation may be limited. For these applications TP Fay have developed a range of heaters designed to withstand the rigours of non immersed operation.
The Immersion heater is designed with carefully selected sheathed heating elements formed to a spiral coil shape. The design offers an Element surface area up to 5 times greater than a standard Immersion Heater, the surface temperature is up to 60% lower. The Immersion Heater will operate in air for an extended period without the risk of instant burn-out.

Domestic Hot Water Immersion Heaters
TP Fay can supply standard 11" (280mm) or 27" (685mm) long, 2?" BSP 3kW 230v BEAB approved Domestic Hot Water Immersion Heaters conforming to the latest legislation of BSEN60335-2-73. These Domestic Hot Water Immersion Heaters have a secondary device to isolate the heater from the mains electricity supply should the primary thermostat fail with the contacts "closed", this secondary device prevents the risk of the water exceeding 85?c.
TP Fay can custom manufacture special Domestic Hot Water Immersion Heaters.
Special orders for, single special Domestic Hot Water Immersion Heaters and small batches can often be manufactured in a matter of days.
