We had numerous enquiries with a hot food storage application that had been reporting early and frequent failures. The element incorporated into the application was compact to fit in to the limited space available around the middle fan. However, this meant the Watt Density levels were higher than recommended for air.
An element operating in still or low air flow needs to be sitting at the lower end of Watt Density to reduce the risk of early failures.
Our team was able to take the available space within the heater and use it to our advantage to get more surface area without compromising the original setting.
A very simple change meant the surface area had almost doubled. Failures soon became much less frequent, and this became the new go-to design for our customers.
